SUMMER CAMP AT CDI FARM

SUMMER RIDING CAMP AT CAN-DO-IT FARM IN 2012 WILL BE AMAZING!!!   YOUR CAMPER WILL LOVE THE HORSES, THE FRIENDS SHE MAKES, AND THE ATMOSPHERE AT CDI.  WARM, FRIENDLY, AND ONLY 15 GIRLS MAXIMUM EACH WEEK OF RIDING CAMP.  SELECT A JUMPING WEEK, OR A "JUST PLAIN FUN" WEEK FOR HER TO ENJOY.   HER SUMMER WILL BE FILLED WITH HORSES, HORSES, HORSES...........................our rates for 2012 will remain the same as last season.  $900 is a full week of riding camp, including room and board, and a horse and equipment is supplied for campers.  $85 extra is charged to cover board  if you bring a horse of your own. (note that all shots are required before bringing a horse..check with director for information on this).  Our half-week of camp will remain at $450 for riders that are younger, or may become homesick during a longer stay.

Summer riding camp is all about horses.   Riding and learning to care for a horse is a big responsibility, and the girls are taught to care for their horse during the week-long (or more) stay at the Farm.   Although we are not a "show" stable, we are not "fancy", but we take the time to work with our campers on safety and responsible horse riding and care.  We hope that our campers leave with a feeling of "love for the horses", and knowledge to care for a horse in the future.  Many of our campers go on to be riding instructors, horse owners, and horse-lovers for the rest of their lives.  And we enjoy hearing from all of our campers after they leave the CDI farm.

Special attention to the size of a summer camp for your camper can make the difference in her time at camp.  With only 15 girls each week, Can-Do-It Farm is the perfect camp for parents who are looking for special attention for the horse programs offered.  Horses are the main interest of our campers, and we have 25-30 horses on the Farm for the summer camp program.  Girls who own their own horses may bring them to camp for an added $85 per week.  This will make certain that the camper has a horse that she is sure she is in love with, and is able to ride.   If your camper does not have her own horse, we will help her pick just the right horse for the week she is attending.   With lessons given 2 times daily, and several hours of extra riding offered each day, your camper will soon learn to love the horse that has been chosen for her.  If you have a beginner rider, or you have an advanced rider, CDI will work with the girls at their own ability level.   Three counselors will help the riders on a personal level.   Other camps with many, many campers, may not have this ability.   Can-Do-It Farm has been in business in the same location since 1975.

Girls have attended our camp from all over the world.  We are located in NE Ohio, on a 125-acre farm in Ashtabula County.  An indoor arena, several outdoor arenas, dressage rings, round pen, jumping field, and a cross-country course .. all for our campers to enjoy.  Each of the weeks offered during the summer season specializes in something special for the girls.   Jumping, dressage, cross-country riding, and Just plain fun weeks!

If you have a camper that "only wants horses" at camp, you found it.   No other sports are offered to our Horse Crazy girls.   Campers are expected to care for their own horse, and lessons are given daily on "how to do this".   Safety is our #1 objective.  Keeping the campers safe around horses is a full time job, and we take our job seriously.  No riders are pushed beyond their ability level.  No riders are required to participate in an activity that they feel uncomfortable with.

BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE NEW 'TRAINING' CAMP THIS SEASON.    BRING YOUR OWN HORSE IF YOU LIKE!

This would be a typical day at the camp.   A small "demo" show is held on Saturday morning, 10am, for parents to attend.  it usually lasts about 2 hours total, and kids are usually ready to leave about noon-1pm on Saturday.  (note that campers staying over another week will keep their horses that they have picked for another week of riding...there is no charge for the Saturday overnight stay for campers remaining for the next session)

*Campers are not permitted to keep cell phones with them during camp.  Phones may be stored in the Main Farmhouse with the camp director for use on Wednesday evening only...calls may be made to parents only during this short "phone time" .  Parents may call campers if there is an emergency of any kind.  We feel that the week is devoted entirely to the horses and finding new friends.
