At our visits to local Camp Fairs, we have met some of the wonderful people who make up our camping system. I have listed a few of the below, who are exceptional. I am sure all of you would like to visit their web sites too.
Below, are links to other Horse Sites (and no-so-horse sites) that may be of interest to our readers and campers. Please visit these sites when you are looking for Horse-related sites that offer riding lessons, horse events, show stables, places to stay in the area, and things to do in the Ashtabula area and close by.. "We help each other out" .
For campers coming to the Farm from outside of this area, I will list some of the local hotels, restaurants, and activities that are available for you to stay at and visit while you are here. Please mention that you are with Can-Do-It Farm, for any discounts that may apply to your visit to these sites.
**Red Hawk Grille. web www.redhawkgrille.com/ A great restaurant located at 7481 Auburn Road, Concord, Ohio. Hours: Monday through Sat..11:30am until 2am Sunday: Noon until 10pm. Stop in and visit. Right off Route 90 and 44 (Chardon Exit). Easy to get to, great hours, and Norm said the food is GREAT! If you are coming from the Cleveland (Rt 90) area, stop in for lunch or dinner. Tell them that Can-Do-It Farm (Candy and Norm Stokes) sent you, and get a special discount too! You can't go wrong.
**Holiday Inn Express Ashtabula. web hiexpress.com 1831 Austinburg Road, Ashtabula, Ohio 877-863-4780 (Austinburg, Ohio) Located at exit 223 off of Route 90. About 15 minutes from the Farm. (I will leave brochures at the site, with maps for you to get to the Farm from there) If you are from out of State and need a place to stay while dropping off your girls at camp, this is a great facility. Call: 440-227-2020 for a reservation, and be sure to mention that you are from "Can-Do-It Farm", as you will receive a special discount on your room. This facility provides a wonderful continental breakfast with your stay. If you would like the Farm to reserve a room for you, just call Candy at 440-858-2244. (or 440-812-3488)
www.GrandHavenStable.net A terrific Show Stable with a beautiful facility available for your shows. Not only do they sponsor shows themselves, but your organization can rent this facility. Robyn and John are terrific people, and friends too. Their facility is located just North of Can-Do-It Farm Summer Camp. (about 1/4 mile..within walking distance !) So visit us when you are at their facility. We have a Tack Shop on the Camp that can help you with your horse needs while at Grandhaven shows. The CDI Tack Shop sells Tack, clothing, and even Hay if you need it!

www.summitchoralsociety.org An opportunity for kids who love to sing ! Again, not a horse site, but great people, and lots of fun and learning. If you are into music and singing, this is the place to be !! Visit their site
www.DarbyDowns.org Boarding, Lessons, .... Dressage and Hunter Jumper .... Located in Irwin, Pa. Take a look at their site. Not too far from our location, and very nice people to learn with. If you live in this area, check them out.
www.zuckfarms.com Fairview, Pa., Boarding stable full and partial care facility. A safe and friendly place to keep your horses. Lessons too.
Cherry Valley Furniture Store...What a terrific shop, close to CDI Farm. Amish family runs this business,and there is furniture, canned foods, and bulk groceries for sale. The service is great, and you can just "shop" for hours, looking at all of the neat things in this huge barn. When you come to CDI Farm for camp or lessons or day camp, you can drive to this location in about 15 minutes, and you will have a couple of hours of fun looking through this Amish barn. They do not have a web site, but I am putting their store here for everyone to see. You will enjoy looking around.
CDI Tack Shoppe..located on the Farm, this tack shop has everything you could want for your horse and that "horse crazy" person in your life. Clothing, Tack, Breyer Horses, gifts, boots, books, products for your horse, wormers, medicine for your horses, treats for your horse, and even gift certificates for riding lessons, summer camp, and day camps on the Farm. Located on the Can-Do-It Farm since 1989. Lots of antiques too. Norm Stokes is the owner. 440-858-2244
**Josephine's Ristorante...61 East Jefferson Street, Jefferson, Ohio. Just 4 miles from the Farm. This is a very nice place to eat, and they are open on Sunday afternoon when you drop off your campers. The food is good, and it is close to Can-Do-It. Phone: 440-576-3092. You will not need reservations. Mon-Thurs 6am-8pm.....Friday & Sat 6am-9pm..........Sunday 8am-7pm *Note that this restaurant gives my guests a discount..just ask at the entrance...tell them you are from Can-Do-It Farm....
