Clothing List

Clothing list

Please pack light.  I will do the laundry for the girls if they run short of clothing.   Be sure to include "lake" shoes for the girls to wear into the lake for swimming the horses.  Tight tennis shoes (old ones please), or lake shoes that do not slide off.   Flip Flops are not good for this job.

Note that electronics are not our main interest at camp.  However, Cell phones may be kept in the main farmhouse for the girls to use on Wednesday evenings to call home only.  We encourage parents to keep all electronics other than cell phones home.  Campers will enjoy the company of their horses and other girls and counselors during their stay at the Farm.  Music is ok; however, they may not use earphones outside of the bunkhouse, as this may cause accidents around the horses and equpiment at the barn.  In case of emergency, you may call them on the Farm phones 440-858-2244, anytime.  Just ask for Candy or Norm, and we will connect you with your camper in case of an emergency.   Other calls are made on Wednesday evenings only..5-5:30 pm.  This is the time where we will try to have all of the girls close to the bunkhouse for calls from home.   A small demo show is held at the end of each week:  Saturday morning, 10am sharp, the girls will be ready to ride for you!  They look forward to "showing off their skills" for their family, so please try to be prompt so the show can go on.  It should last about 1 hour on most Saturdays.   Call if you can't come to the show; and pick up for the campers is noon if you are not coming to watch them ride.   Note that parents only may pick up their campers unless you have made previous arrangements with Candy or Norm to have another person or relative pick up your camper.   No camper will leave with anyone other than a parent unless you call the owners.  This is for the protection of your camper.  All charges that the girls have made during the week-long stay will be recorded in the Tack Shop.  See Norm before leaving to settle this amount.  A pre-set limit is given at the time you bring your camper in.  We will attempt to keep them within this range, but are not responsible for girls going over their limits.

Note:  Please arrange to pay for your camp with cash or check or money orders.  Our credit card machine is reserved for the Tack Shop use.

Girls must wear appropriate shoes in the Barn and around the Barn.   Lace up boots, (tall or short paddocks are appropriate)  Hard-soled shoes and even lace-up tennis shoes are fine.  Half chaps are permitted.  Breeches are best, (or jodphurs), and blue jeans are permitted for those that do not have riding clothing.  The Tack Shop is open during the stay at the Farm, and they give our campers a 10% discount on anything purchased from them during your stay.   The CDI Tack Shop is convenient, very competitive prices, and they usually have what we need for our campers.   Give them a try.
